If every renowned artisan in the books skimped on their creations because it’s “cheaper” or “requires lesser effort”, art wouldn’t even be a thing. In a different era, we were two folks navigating life on paths that never crossed. I honed my craft in a tiny signage shop stowed away in Indiana. As for [partner name] over here, he ran a flooring business, giving folks a nicely sturdy pad to live, laugh, love on. My headman had a happy-go-lucky view of work. In turn, life was slow-moving in his company. Perhaps, too slow for my voracious young self. That’s when I made the leap for IT and met [partner name].
So, we ventured out of the nest and set up our own. Did we do signages too? You guessed wrong. It was an event decor business, and we built props for weddings. Odd… we know. All was well for a good couple of years. Business was booming. But, we started to miss designing signage. During this pursuit for so-called ‘success’ we found ourselves losing a bit of our souls each day to the hustle culture every ladder-climber in their 30s glorifies just too much. It was as if every molecule of energy got leeched out of our bodies.
Internally, we knew our heart belonged where home was.
We rebranded our business into a bespoke signage making boutique that everyone knows today as ACC Signs & Design. Don’t get it twisted — we’re not settling down just yet. We still have slightly evil (but not illegal) plans on conquering Crown Point. This time, we’ll take it easy. I can’t help but think that maybe my headman was a wise one for his conventions. Anyway we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Long story short, we should really work on your precious fixer-upper right there *points over shoulder*.
